The vivarium occupies 24,000 square feet of animal housing and laboratory space and is capable of handling biohazardous materials under BSL-2 conditions with housing and manipulating of mice, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets and mini-pigs under ABSL-2 conditions. Additional pasture is available for the housing of sheep and goats under BSL-1 conditions.
